Ko Wai Au

Tēnā koutou katoa!

I'm Danni Stone, a PRT with a year seven and eight class at Glenbrae School in Auckland. I am also part of the Manaiakalani Digital Teaching Academy (MDTA). As such, I will be co-teaching with my mentor and undertaking postgraduate study (Honours) at the University of Auckland. I will also receive much professional development regarding digital learning environments, as the majority of students in the Manaiakalani cluster learn with 1:1 digital devices.

Before studying to be a teacher I worked in a number of fields, from working with the arts to sales and marketing. I hope to utilise these experiences in my classroom. In 2015 I completed an undergraduate degree (a Bachelor of Education) at the University of Auckland. I learnt of the MDTA in my first year of study and was inspired by the work that the Manaiakalani Trust were doing. As such, I am thrilled to be part of the MDTA 2016 cohort and look forward to the next two years.

This blog will document my journey with the MDTA. I will share and reflect upon my learning, both in and outside of the classroom.
